Situated just on the outskirts of Bicester, our farm at Little Chesterton has been in the family for over 60 years. September and October 2010 various 090We breed Pedigree Charollais and Blue Texel Sheep (from which the shop name originates).  Charollais sheep are renowned for their quality carcase and easy lambing.



P1030460Blue Texels were first recognised and recorded in Holland in the early 1970’s, they are easier to lamb than the more extreme white texels.  We lamb twice a year – early December and then again in March.

Our sows are principally Saddlebacks and Gloucester Old Spots which we cross with a Piertrain Boar.  The cows in our Suckler herd run with an Aberdeen Angus Bull.

Chris juggles his day between the Farm and the Butchers.


The Master Butcher, Colin boasts of over 40 years experience having started his career in Bicester at the tender age of 9 at C Lane with Brian Windman. He then started working on a Saturday at 16 with Peter Goss and spent the next 32 years perfecting his skills before moving over to The Blue Texel in Launton where he could continue to use his Master Butcher skills.
